The new area may be hard to find, so be sure to check behind the starter island, and perhaps set a brighter time of day via the pause menu (accessed via TAB).  

On the horizon (lil pun there) is a plan for implementing visual hints for where to go, to hopefully make finding secrets a bit easier.  Still working out how to do so with some subtlety, and hopefully featuring more favorite assets in the process.
